Alabama Ambulance Company to Pay $5.4 Million in Transport Fraud Case

A medical transport corporation operating in several states, including Alabama and Kentucky, will pay $5.4 million to settle claims that the company improperly billed Medicare for dialysis patient transportation costs. Rural/Metro Ambulance was accused by federal authorities of providing transport for patients who neither required nor were eligible for ambulance transport to dialysis treament.
